5th and 6th Grade Art classes are nearing completion on their decorative ceramic boxes. Using a slab construction technique, students created a personalized box of various shapes and designs. There were many wonderful and creative designs that each student came up with. Mr. Keiser was impressed with the skill students exhibited with this project.
For our final Featured Artist this year, Mr. Keiser has selected Ava Hostetler from 5B. Ava created a beautiful box that used near perfect construction in joining her walls and a well-fitted lid. Ava implemented multiple decorating techniques for her box. She carefully crafted 3 flowers to the top of her lid and created eye catching patterns along the walls and box interior. She accented these designs with miniature flower sculptures. Outstanding work, Ava!
