The students of Westview Elementary have been busy! Last week they collected over 178,000 aluminum cans! A local facility will then recycle the cans, and the proceeds will be donated to Riley Hospital for Children. Two years ago, Westview Elementary donated $1292.00 to the hospital.
There were three classrooms that brought in more than 16,500 cans each: Mrs. Rodriguez, Mrs. Gongwer, & Mr. Davis. Mrs. Gongwer ‘s class brought in the most cans with a total of 19,313. To reward students for their hard work, a school-wide drawing was held for a pizza party at each grade level. The Westview Elementary PTO will provide a pizza party for Mrs. Mowry’s class and Miss Huyvaert’s class. Good Job Westview Elementary!
