It is with great sadness that Westview High School announces the loss of one of our eleventh-grade students, Gwendolynn (Gwen) Deianara Owsley. Gwen passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, leaving a profound void in the hearts of our school community.
Gwen Owsley was an exceptional individual who touched the lives of many with her kindness, talent, and dedication. Gwen was involved in many school activities, including track and field, soccer, cross country, FFA, student council, and choir.
The loss of any student is a tragic event that deeply affects our students, staff, and community. We have grief counselors available to assist students and staff in coping with this loss and offer a safe space for them to share their feelings and memories of Gwen.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Gwen's family and friends as they navigate this painful journey. A memorial service to celebrate Gwen’s life and contributions to our community will be held at New Life Fellowship, on Monday, November 6, 2023.
