Congratulations to all the medalists at the ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble competitions the last couple of weeks. Westview High School students brought home 13 gold medals and 2 silver medals between the band and vocal competitions.
Among the solo medalists were six gold with distinction - Kaleb Iddings (vocal), Tetiana Jones (vocal), Asher Kennedy (vocal), Bailey Manns (vocal), Miley Mast (vocal), Braden Rogers (vocal), and Chris Terrones (tuba). Two students - Asher Kennedy and Braden Rogers - received perfect scores for their vocal solos. Lilyan Bennett (vocal), Kiana Mast (alto sax), Hope Miller (vocal), Kaitlin Nuzum (vocal), and Sorcha Stewart (vocal) also received gold rankings for their solo performances. Adelyn Rainsberger and Emily Bontrager also performed well at State, each bringing home a silver medal for their solo vocal performances.
The Jones Ensemble of Sorcha Stewart, Lexy Bennett, Bailey Manns, Lilly Mullet, Emily Bontrager, Ava Hostetler, Eden Mauck, Andreya Bergeron, MJ Canturk, Janell Lambright, Chayenne Diaz, Tetiana Jones and Lilyan Bennett brought home a gold medal for their group performance.
