4th grade students had a SWEET time celebrating reading and writing!! 🍭🍬🍫 After reading personal narratives, they discovered that Candy Land was invented by a teacher, Eleanor Abbot, in the 1940s for children who had long hospital stays due to polio. Students enjoyed playing this classic game and then shared their own personal narratives.

The Ft Wayne Museum of Art brought their Gallery on Wheels to Meadowview Elementary to teach our students about “Animals in Art.” It was a special day that gave our students a chance to view and discuss animal art from the museum’s collection and then create their own poster about an animal of their choice. Students did a wonderful job of participating, thinking deeply, and making connections!

Laker, Panther & Warrior Nation – we need you ALL!
🩵❤️💛

We are hiring an instructor for the Learn to Work program. This unique initiative connects students across all three LaGrange County schools with exposure to the manufacturing industry and hands-on skills right here in our community.

👉 What’s the role?
This instructor will guide students in the Industrial Electrical Maintenance pathway, helping them gain hands-on experience with electrical systems, safety practices, troubleshooting, and the technical skills needed to succeed in today’s workforce. They will also work directly with our industry partners to provide students with real-world learning opportunities and to strengthen the connection between education and local employers.

👉 Who can apply?
We are specifically seeking candidates with an Industrial Electrical Maintenance background. A traditional teaching license is NOT required – industry professionals can qualify through a Workplace Specialist license; your experience and desire to mentor students matter most!

This is an incredible opportunity to make an impact on students’ futures while sharing your professional expertise.

Second graders celebrated the end of their “Fairy Tale and Tall Tale” unit with a theme party. Today students and teachers came to school dressed as their favorite storybook character. Students enjoyed a surprise visitor at the end of the day…Paul Bunyan and his blue ox Babe. We even got to eat his favorite food. 🥞
