Westview School Corporation Staff and Community,
The Westview School Board has extended an offer to Dr. Jaime Carroll to serve as the next superintendent at Westview School Corporation. Dr. Carroll has agreed in principle to the offer and a public vote will be taken after Indiana's and the Westview legal hiring process for school superintendents is completed. The hearing regarding the superintendent contract is January 8th. Per Westview policy the official approval/vote will be at least seven days after the hearing with Dr. Carroll starting February 2, 2026. The date for the approval vote has not been set yet. Dr. Zimmerly will continue as interim superintendent until Dr. Carroll is able to start and for a short transition period.
Dr Carroll was chosen from a pool of twelve candidates. The board interviewed seven candidates and completed an extensive vetting process once Dr. Carroll was selected as the finalist.
Dr. Jaime Carroll currently serves as the Curriculum Director for Whitko Community Schools. Prior to joining Whitko she worked 27 years at East Noble School Corporation, serving in a variety of instructional and leadership capacities, including her final eight years as Principal of Wayne Center Elementary School. In addition, Dr. Carroll served as an adjunct professor in the School of Education for Ivy Tech Community College for eight years and spent four years mentoring principals across the state through the Indiana Principal Leadership Institute.
Jaime's background, personality and experience is a close match to the superintendent traits identified in the survey we conducted as part of our hiring process. We are very excited to have her joining Westview School Corporation.
For the Westview Board,
Keith Lambright, President

In our new ELA curriculum, fourth grade students are completing a Quest, which is a hands-on activity using collaboration. Students were tasked with picking up a ping pong ball (without just using their hands.) Students had to create some type of invention that would allow them to pick up the ball, hold it for three seconds, and pass it to each teammate. Once each team member had held the ball for three seconds, students had to deliver the ball into a basket. The materials students could use were limited to ten Kleenex, two pencils and as many rubber bands as they wanted. Lots of creativity and collaborating took place!

Fourth Grade students got a chance to try their hand at some food art in the form of cookie decorating in Art Class. Students discussed symbols of fall, cultural traditions, and food art as an occupation in the art field. They also learned how to hold a bag, switch decorating tips, and experiment with a round tip, leaf tip, star tip, and basket weave tip using buttercream icing. They improved as they practiced, helped each other learn, and were excited to eat and share their yummy creations later.

4th grade students had a SWEET time celebrating reading and writing!! 🍭🍬🍫
After reading personal narratives, they discovered that Candy Land was invented by a teacher, Eleanor Abbot, in the 1940s for children who had long hospital stays due to polio. Students enjoyed playing this classic game and then shared their own personal narratives.

The Ft Wayne Museum of Art brought their Gallery on Wheels to Meadowview Elementary to teach our students about “Animals in Art.” It was a special day that gave our students a chance to view and discuss animal art from the museum’s collection and then create their own poster about an animal of their choice. Students did a wonderful job of participating, thinking deeply, and making connections!
