This week we’re shining the spotlight on one of our amazing kindergarten teachers, Kristin Kraft! Though she’s newer to kindergarten, you’d never guess it. Her patience, care, and dedication are evident in everything she does! Whether she’s helping little learners navigate their first year of school or offering a kind word to a teammate, she brings warmth and positivity to every corner of her classroom! The kids absolutely love her, and so do we! When Kristin isn’t in the classroom, she enjoys going to sporting events, and hiking. When asked what she loves about Shipshe-Scott she said, “The people! I love the kids, my coworkers, and all the great advice and support!” Thank you, Mrs. Kraft, for being such a wonderful teacher and friend!

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Jessica Mitchell! Jessica is not only one of our dedicated bus drivers, but she also serves as a caring and dependable lunch monitor. Every day, she goes above and beyond to make sure our students are safe, supported, and smiling. Her kindness and willingness to lend a hand make a huge difference in our school community. From the moment students hop on her bus, to the lunchroom and beyond, Jessica is there with a positive attitude and a heart full of care. In her free time, Jessica likes to be creative by making super cute lanyards, wristlets, and pens! Thank you, Jessica, for all you do to support our kids and our school family! You truly are an All Star!

Our Kindergarten and First Grade students had a special visit yesterday! Dr. Susie Lee and her dog, Homer, stopped by to talk about what it’s like to be a veterinarian. The students were fascinated to learn how she helps animals stay healthy. Ms. Christine and her dog, Legend, also joined us to share how animals are trained. The highlight? Everyone got a chance to pet the dogs! It was a tail-wagging good time full of learning and smiles. Thank you Dr. Lee and Ms. Christine for taking the time to share with us!

Our Spotlight today is on Jess Sweet! Jess is an amazing interventionist who brings heart, dedication, and serious teaching skills to everything she does. She has a special gift for keeping students focused, motivated, and always striving to do their best. On top of being a rockstar educator, Jess is also working toward her Master’s degree in education — proof that she’s just as committed to her own learning as she is to her students’. A fun fact about Jess is that she can recite the alphabet backwards! When asked what she loves most about Shipshe-Scott, she said: "The community and family feel!" Thank you, Mrs. Sweet, for all the ways you support your students and continue to grow as a teacher. Your passion makes a real difference, and we’re lucky to have you!
