Camp Scottie was a blast last night! We loved seeing so many families come out to enjoy the activities, laughter, and time together. It was such a joy to watch our community connect and make memories. Thanks to everyone who joined us, and to the staff & PTO who made it all happen!!

Say hello to our amazing Ameera Ellis! This is her second year as an interventionist assistant, and let’s just say—she’s got it down to a science. Ameera is equal parts funny, friendly, sarcastic, and kind (a winning combo, if you ask us). The students adore her, and so do we! She knows what she’s doing, does it well, and keeps us all laughing along the way. We’re so lucky to have her on our team! 💛✨
Thank you for everything you do, Mrs. Ellis!!

✨ Our 2nd graders had a magical Fairy Tales & Tall Tales Day! ✨
In the morning, they traveled from classroom to classroom, taking on all kinds of creative challenges:
🌲 Played a new Paul Bunyan game, “Keep the Log in the River”
🏰 Designed a castle fit for Beauty and the Beast
🐂 Built a pen for Babe the Blue Ox
🍎 Engineered a floating wooden raft for Johnny Appleseed’s apples
They wrapped up the day with special treats for everyone—a sweet ending to a day full of imagination and fun! 💫

We’re kicking off our first spotlight of the year with Kim Sheets!
Kim is a dedicated 3rd grade teacher who has been a proud Scottie for 13 years! Beyond the classroom, she enjoys scrapbooking and fishing, but what truly makes her shine is the way she cares for her students. Kim not only supports their academic growth but also invests in their emotional well-being.
She’s a brilliant teacher, a role model for us all, and we’re so grateful for the impact she makes every day.
Thank you, Kim, for everything you do!

This past Friday evening, August 22, Westview staff and their families enjoyed a night of fun and food. Thank you to the Blue Gate Restaurant and Theater, as well as Shipshewana Trading Place.

Yesterday our 3rd and 4th graders (alongside some very awesome parents) put their hearts and hands to work serving others! Partnering with Feed My Starving Children, they packed 145 boxes—enough for 31,320 meals. Thanks to their hard work, 85 children will have food for an entire year! Great job everyone!!

Last week, Westview honored student-athlete Noah Bontrager for his incredible accomplishment of winning both the 1600m and 3200m races at State! Since the races took place over the summer, we celebrated by giving Noah the special opportunity to run through the elementary hallways. He’s pictured here with Mrs. Short’s class—one of his former teachers! Congrats, Noah!!

Reminder of our PTO meeting tomorrow!

Join the chalk sketching contest outside the LaGrange County Courthouse on August 29, 2025, during Final Friday!

Shipshe-Scott would like to welcome our new staff members! From left to right we have Rachelle Judd (Interventionist), Brandi Stager (Resource/Special Ed Assistant), Kiersten Bontrager (Resource/Special Ed Assistant), and Alissa McDonald (2nd Grade Teacher).
Welcome to the team!
