On Friday, the 5th grade students went on the annual Shrine Circus field trip and had a wonderful time. Thank you to everyone for making this happen.

Last Wednesday, the second 9 weeks citizens for 5th and 6th grade got to have a delicious lunch at Topeka Pizza. Great job students!!!

On Friday, Westview Elementary spent the afternoon celebrating ALL of our students with awards and a special guest...Doug Scheer from Laugh Factory. It was a fantastic celebration. Thank You Mrs. Leeper!!!

Mr. Keiser is wrapping up the Art year with an excursion into the outdoors. After looking at the artwork of Raku Inoue and doing a brief review of insect anatomy, some of the Art classes are gathering objects from nature to construct their own Natural Insect.
Topeka Elementary School will not be in session today due to power outage. All other Westview buildings will go to school today, May 23, 2019.

Science Central visited us again on Monday, and they brought some friends. The 6th grade were able to study and dissect sharks for their science ecosystem and organisms curriculum.
March is National Nutrition Month so we had a “Fresh Fruit Friday!” Each class got to enjoy some oranges! We hope to offer more fresh fruit Friday’s in the future with new and seasonal fruit!

Friday the 8th, Science Central visited Westview Elementary to expose our students to the science of Space. It was a great opportunity for some hands on science.
Last Tuesday, the 6th grade students had their second Club 56 day. This is a day where students are given the opportunity to rotate to different classrooms and teachers to master fractions. Once again WES makes sure every child learns, every chance of every day
