Mr. Yoder's students are constructing ecosystem dioramas and food webs. Students were assigned an ecosystem to which they researched what plants and animals live there. Using that information, as well as from their science textbooks, students must create a food web and a diorama with labels of specific organisms.

We had a Burger Bash at Westview Elementary School, and we especially thank Maple Lane Farm and Cedar Creek Meats.

The students of Westview Elementary have been busy! During the third week of April, they collected over 72,000 aluminum cans! A local facility recycled the cans, and the proceeds, about $900, will be donated to Riley Hospital for Children.
Mr. Ryan Yoder’s class brought in the most cans this year, with a total of 10,524. To reward students for their hard work, a school-wide drawing was held for a pizza party at each grade level. The Westview Elementary PTO will provide a pizza party for Ms. Hayes’s 5th-grade class and Ms. Huyvaert’s 6th-grade class. Good Job Westview Elementary!

"Please join us in participating in this FUN scavenger hunt for the blue bike tires hiding around Lagrange county. These tires represent the happy, healthy, and carefree childhoods all children deserve. Child abuse prevention is anything that strengthens families and help children thrive.
Families are encouraged to come out into the community using the clues our elementary kiddos put together! Westview will be recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention month the week of April 14th.
The LaGrange County child Abuse & Neglect collaborative please ask that if you find the blue bike tire, take a selfie with it using the hashtag #LCCAP2025
